Happy Mother's Day!

I always love this time of year when the weather turns warmer and the days start to turn longer. It's also time to celebrate Mother's Day, one of my favorite holidays. Ask any mom and she will agree! I'm really looking forward to a restful weekend around the house with the family. It's been a hectic couple of weeks as I've made three trips in five weeks, but I got to see some longtime friends and colleagues, and, of course, read!

Just as we did with our Easter Roundup, we're bringing you a special Mother's Day Roundup. There are some great books here, whether you're shopping for mom or for yourself. One title we're featuring is HER DAUGHTER'S DREAM by Francine Rivers, which is the sequel to HER MOTHER'S HOPE. I really enjoyed both books, and they are the perfect books to wrap up for mom!

We have two new contests for you to win free books. Ten readers can win a copy of LILIES IN MOONLIGHT by Allison Pittman by entering here by Tuesday, May 31st at noon ET. This one is about a fun-loving flapper who stumbles into the yard of a war veteran. Despite their very different backgrounds, the two form an unlikely friendship. You can also read the study guide here.

Fifty readers can win a copy of THE GIFT by Bryan M. Litfin, the second book in his Chiveis Trilogy. The series takes place hundreds of years into the future where two friends seek scriptures to help them better understand their post-apocalyptic world. Enter here by Tuesday, May 31st at noon ET. We also have the study guide here.

In addition to those titles, we now have guides for MY FOOLISH HEART: Deep Haven, Book 4 by Susan May Warren, A HEART DIVIDED: Heart of the Rockies, Book 1 by Kathleen Morgan, A GREAT CATCH: Lake Manawa Summers, Book 2 by Lorna Seilstad and A KILLER AMONG US: Women of Justice, Book 3 by Lynette Eason. Two more books to check out are THE ALARMISTS by Don Hoesel and TO WIN HER HEART by Karen Witemeyer.

MY FOOLISH HEART is also this month's prize book. You can win a copy by clicking here or on the image above. This is the fourth book in Susan May Warren's Deep Haven series, and follows a radio host who finds herself falling for one of her call-in regulars.

The 2011 Christian Book Awards were announced earlier this week. A big congratulations to all the nominees and winners, which you can see here.

If you have a young reader in the family, you may want to tell him or her about our Bunch o' Books Giveaway happening on Kidsreads.com. Twenty lucky kids can win four books each in this contest by entering here by Wednesday, June 15th at noon ET. Just in time for summer!

On a different note, I want to send my thoughts and wishes to all who were affected by the recent horrific weather throughout the South. It was very difficult to watch the news reports and see the wreckage, but also special to see so much immediate outpouring of support and people banding together to help each other. You are all in my thoughts for a strong recovery.

Special Contest and Feature: THE GIFT by Bryan M. Litfin

We are celebrating the release of THE GIFT --- a futuristic re-telling of the New Testament --- with a special contest. Fifty readers will have the opportunity to each win a copy of the second book in Bryan M. Litfin’s Chiveis Trilogy. The deadline for entries is Tuesday, May 31st at noon ET.

THE GIFT: Chiveis Trilogy, Book 2 by Bryan M. Litfin (Fantasy)
Hundreds of years in the future, war and disease have destroyed civilization as we know it. Modern technology has vanished and history is largely forgotten. A struggling society of survivors has just begun to rebuild, creating kingdoms of a feudal order. Exiled from their beloved home of Chiveis, Teo and Ana journey into foreign lands in search of the second half of Deu’s sacred writings. But finding an ancient manuscript is far from easy, especially when the pair is tempted, tried, and separated along the way. On a quest fraught with unforeseen perils, murderous villains, and the prejudices of elite societies, the bond between Teo and Ana is put to the ultimate test. Though the New Testament might be found in distant Roma, will the price of its discovery be too high to pay?
