D. James Kennedy

Dr. D. James Kennedy is the most listened to Presbyterian minister in the world today.  A native of Augusta, Georgia, Kennedy was raised in Chicago, later moving to Florida while in high school.  Shortly after his conversion to Christ in 1953, he was called into gospel ministry.  In 1959, he joined the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he continues to serve as senior minister.  What began as a modest mission church of only 45 has grown to 10,000 members, making it one of the fastest-growing Presbyterian churches in America.

No stranger to the print medium, Dr. Kennedy is the author of more than sixty books, including the bestselling What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?, among many others.  Kennedy has earned nine academic degrees, including a PhD in comparative religion from New York University.  Deeply devoted to evangelism and cultural renewal, his broadcast messages via The Coral Ridge Hour television program and the Truths That Transform radio program are seen and heard by more than three million people worldwide.

The president of Coral Ridge Ministries, Kennedy is also the founder and director of Evangelism Explosion, a lay witnessing program that is used in every nation on earth, as well as the founder of both the Westminster Academy and Knox Theological Seminary.  A well-respected representative of the Presbyterian church, he has appeared on many national programs, including CNN’s Larry King Live,Fox’s The O’Reilly Factor and MSNBC’s Scarborough Country.  Kennedy is happily married to Anne and has one daughter, Jennifer, a nurse educator.  The Kennedys make their home in Fort Lauderdale.
